Walkmans by edvvcRemember the Walkman? This tiny device (well, large in retrospect…) freed music from the tyranny of Big Vinyl back in 1979 and remained in our hearts for 20-or-so years.

The iRevolution may have killed off our analog friend and its digital descendants, but recently we’ve found ourselves in a compromised state of nostalgia over the Walkman.

As such, we’re giving you an opportunity to win two tickets to see The Walkmen at the Granada Theater on Saturday, March 5th!

Your job is to write a short story or short poem about the / a Walkman. Nothing too outrageously long (unless you simply must). Of course, the work must actually be yours. So, brush up on your iambic pentameter and think back to your tape-listening days ’cause the competition starts…now! It’ll be judged primarily based on creativity, so get your brain-muscle movin’!
