Based in the heart of Texas, indietronica band The Octopus Project has been reppin’ Austin since 1999. Known for their use of projectors and interchanging use of instruments on stage, the band has bringing their sound to all sorts of popular festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza and South by Southwest. Their interesting mix of electronic and analog sounds (including drum machines, keyboard, thermin, samplers, and glockenspiel) has produced four albums so far, with their 2007 effort, Hello, Avalanche, spurring them onto a prolific touring schedule that had them rubbing shoulders with the likes of hip-hop star Aesop Rock and 80s pop legends Devo. Their 2010 effort, Hexadecagon, has been featured at South by Southwest and electronic music festival Moogfest. On February the 11th (that’s this Saturday), they’ll bring the fun over to the Granada Theater.

Opening for the band is Houston indie poppers The Wild Moccasins and Dallas-based electronica band Mystery Skulls. They’ll be bringing their own special brand of fun for your listening pleasure.

It’s coincidentally the launch party that night for Dallas’ “new online alternative,” Central Track. So what better way to win some tickets so you can party it up with everybody that night?
