Sarah Jaffe is as genuine as it comes. Releasing one full length and a few EPs to accompany, the singer-songwriter has always been filed under, well, the singer-songwriter genre with country-folk sounds. Her latest release, The Body Wins, took a turn, not for better or worse, but into another dimension. And we love it. Produced by John Congleton, whose name might also be associated with Annie Clark’s past releases, Sarah Jaffe has leaped well beyond just acoustics. The Body Wins is a transformation, and we couldn’t complain one bit.
