Don’t try to understand the things Die Antwoord does. It doesn’t work. In fact, Die Antwoord should also probably not try to understand the things Die Antwoord does. The South African group’s bizarre and occasionally disturbing style, image, and antics aren’t for everyone, but as soon as you let all of that go and just enjoy dancing like crazy to their music, you start to get it. Their multilingual, genre-fusing sound takes elements from rave culture, grungy Zef culture, and hip hop, and the result is odd but wonderful.
The group, formed in 2009, is already starting to become touring veterans, so they know how to put on a high energy live show. Be a part of it when they come to House of Blues on Monday, October 15th. We want you to go, so we’re going to literally GIVE you tickets to the show. That’s crazy, we know, but so is Die Antwoord.
