A$AP Rocky stands for many things, it can stand for “Always Strive and Prosper,” or “Acronym Symbolizing Any Purpose,” but ultimately it is the moniker of 24-year old Rakim Mayers. Coming from the A$AP Mob, a A$AP Rocky-led collective from whom Mayers retains his moniker from, A$AP draws influences everywhere from the great Wu-Tang to UGK to Run DMC.
After launching his career launched into the blogosphere via YouTube compilations to leaked mixtapes, Mayers teamed up with one of our favorites, Clams Casino, among others, to release LiveLoveA$AP last year. Successful is a faint way to put it, A$AP will be releasing his major label debut, LoveLiveA$AP, on Halloween this year.
A$AP Rocky will be here in Dallas (before his stop at Fun Fun Fun Fest) on November 2nd with Schoolboy Q and Danny Brown. We’re extremely stoked to see a solid night of hip hop in Dallas, and thanks to our friends at House of Blues, we’ll be sending a few winners to enjoy it with us.
