Black Lips

Fun Fun Fun Fest is one for surprises. After announcing a “special appearance” from The Black Lips merely two weeks prior to the festival, we knew something was up. As we expected, Terrence Mallick was back in Austin with his “crew,” his crew being Michael Fassbender, Rooney Mara (who wanted to be known as Miley Cyrus), and Jim Morrison via Val Kilmer (who we witnessed chopping his hair off with a knife). Though completely scripted, fans got past that, and made it as rowdy as you’d expect any Black Lips show to be. –Trang Nguyen
