Radio UTD’s History
As the only student-run radio station for the University of Texas at Dallas, Radio UTD fulfills many duties on campus. In addition to streaming live online 24/7 with live programming from 12PM-2AM Sunday-Friday, we also remote DJ on campus, host events and attempt to educate the student body about rising music trends. Founded in 2002, the Radio UTD family has grown steadily thanks to the help from the university, CMJ community, student body and ever supportive Dallas music scene.

2002: Submitted Organization Request
2003: Request granted, started streaming online from the ECSN Building 2005: Moved “out of the closet” in the ECSN Building to the Lower Level SU 2006: Nominated by CMJ for “Best Internet-Only Radio Station” 2007: Nominated by CMJ for “Best Internet-Only Radio Staton” 2008: Hosted 2 shows on Sirius XMU as part of Student Exchange Program 2009: Nominated by CMJ for 8 awards: “Station of the Year”, “Biggest Community Resource”, “Best Use of Limited Resources”, “Best Group Effort”, “Coolest”, “Best Website”, “Most Doing Something No One Else Is Doing”, “Best Student-Run Station” 2010: Nominated by CMJ for “Best Use of the Internet”, “Best Use of Limited Resources”, “Station of the Year” 2011: Moved to new studio in the Student Media Suite in the Lower Level SU, adopted new shared studio space with UTD TV |
