Formed in 2013 CRX’s music is a mixture of power pop and glittery metal. The band consists of Nick Valensi, of the The Strokes (who pioneered the garage rock revival of the early 2000’s) along with Ralph Alexander (The Dose), Richie Follin (Guards), Darian Zahedi, and Jon Safley (The Reflections). The group began collaborating after bonding over their appreciation for Elvis Costello, The Cars, and Cheap Trick and the rest is now history.The band’s music features some of the familiar dual guitar arrangements found in Strokes’ discography and a pinch of 70’s and 80’s glam. This star studded lineup’s debut also received some help from Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme in the production of the album. Their debut album, New Skin, was released in October 2016 and their stop in Dallas is part of the band’s first extensive tour. Valensi has stated that the purpose of this album was as a “vehicle to get [him] back on tour” so one can assume that they will put on one hell of a high-energy show!
